Happy Holidays!

“Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime.” ― Laura Ingalls Wilder

Gosh, where did 2021 go? Shouldn’t it be just Summer yet but 2022 is beckoning over the horizon. When did December start? but now it seems to be done with 2022 beckoning on the horizon.

December has been a month to stay put, put wandering on the backburner and spend time with friends and family. Let me take this time to wish all my friends and family and followers’ peace and goodwill on earth and the best of health. May the lights of this holiday season light up your life and bring you joy and prosperity throughout the new year.

The highlight of this month was to be the Newport Beach Holiday Boat parade, but I was not able to make it there. Instead, I visited many local spots that I’d like to share with you as I wish you the best the holiday season has to offer.

Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive all dressed up for the season. On a clear cold December night, we wandered enjoying the shop windows, the lights and the whimsical displays in the middle of the street.

Beautiful and bright, the American in Glendale. The fountain danced to the music of the Christmas carols as people wandered shopping, lunching and enjoying the sunshine.

Just a regular street in Glendale, blocked off to through traffic with a beautifully decorated tree and some chairs and tables for people to bring coffee or a lunch and enjoy the ambiance.

Let it snow! Let it snow! The Westfield Century City had a beautiful display in the center of the mall complete with Santa’s village, Reindeer Express and Snowflakes.

Santa waiting in his sleigh for the children to stop by with their wish list and to take pictures with him. I could imagine a young red headed Dennis telling Santa how he’s been really, really nice it’s just been his red hair that’s gotten him into trouble.

My grandson Shaan after much reflection sat on Santa’s lap and asked for Dodger tickets. I love that confidence and the ask.

Beverly Hills Park all dressed up for Christmas.

The Grove was ready for the holiday season all the way back in November when I visited on a sunshiny warm day.

Rodeo Drive, California. Traditional and beautiful.

New York 5th Avenue is famous for its holiday windows but the shops on Rodeo Drive can certainly hold their own.

Santa’s village complete with a post office, Santa’s house, Reindeer train and workshops.

Beautiful Light Display and changing shopping windows kept passersby enthralled.

Not quite the skating rink at the famed Rockefeller center but Kids Space in Pasadena had set up a sock skating rink as a part of their winter celebration event for kids.

Auld Land Syne. Happy Holidays, Peace on earth, Good Health and may this tough time pass soon.
