Tis the season

“When you wish someone joy, you wish them peace, love, prosperity, happiness ... all the good things.” — Maya Angelou

Wishing all my friends and family joy, love, prosperity, happiness and above all peace. Let’s pause and celebrate family, friendship and togetherness. May there be peace and goodwill in the world.

Six of us gathered here in Southern California to celebrate friendship and our alma mater St. Teresa’s Higher Secondary School in Kolkata India. Thanks to @GeetaBrara for her hospitality in hosting and a super thanks to her husband @jaybrara for putting up with our shenanigans and a super duper thanks to @joyachatterjee, @sunitalall, @ritagujral, @madhoosingh who made these two days memorable.

Christmas is celebrated the world over and it came as no surprise to walk into a remote corner in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco to find the hotel lobby ready for the holidays.

America’s first outpost outside of the United States in far way Tangier, now the American Legation Museum all dressed up in holiday colors contrasting with the beautiful fountain in the center courtyard.

Could this be an exotic rendering of the Nutcracker Ballet in artistic Asilah?

The beautiful ceilings and lights in the Alabaster Mosque in Egypt remind me of the light and beauty of the season. May there be peace upon all.

Colorful flowers and butterflies are like a basket full of toys on Christmas morning.

Chihuly glass sculpture at the Atlantic Hotel and resort in Dubai, UAE. While I know it’s supposed to be an exotic rendering from the sea but in my imagination, it looks like a tree.

At the quirky Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo where this is a year-round event.

Toys and gifts are synonymous with Christmas the world over. A child in Ecuador looking at the display with dreams in his eyes.

You can travel the world and I certainly have done so these past two years but there is a different feeling about coming home and celebrating all that it has to offer.

Especially good friends who pause for a whimsical moment while walking along Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica.

The Los Angeles Arboretum all dressed up for the holidays with the Illumination holiday show. What a fun experience to walk through the light displays, enjoy a drink to warm up your insides, perhaps taste some of the food truck offerings and in general enjoy all that the season has to offer.

Happy Holidays, peace and goodwill to all.
